My parents and I stayed 3 nights in the hotel. On the first night, we witnessed two bugs in the room. Not knowing how bedbugs look, we only shooed them away and did not pay much attention. Following the first night of sleep, we headed out early in the morning. I began getting swollen welts on my arms, legs, feet, and other parts of the body. At first I thought they were mosquito bites, and then I thought they could be allergies; however, as a person who is often allergy-prone, I knew deep down that it was not allergies. We slept in the same room for the 2nd night. The rashes got a lot worse and I had over 25 bitten spots all over my body. They were extremely itchy, sometimes painful, and I could even see the needle holes in at least half of them. Seeing this, I consulted a clinic who immediately recognized them as bedbug bites. My mother confessed that she found blood spot stains on the sheets, but thought they came from me scratching the bites in my sleep. We spoke with the hotel personnel (Scott) on this 2nd day, and he moved us to another room and agreed that we would be fully refunded for our stay upon our requests. We requested to speak with the manager (Ryan), and Scott informed us that he was gone for the day and would be back at 8am the following day. On the following day, we asked once at 9am, and then again at 10:30am to Aisha to speak with the manager. She told us both times that he was not in, despite what Scott had told us the day before. I left my name, phone number and email address for Ryan to call me back, but two whole days have gone by and I have received no call nor email.
