6/21/2018 11:40 PM- I have stayed at this Fairfield inn on several previous occasions without any issue. It isactually the nicest hotel in Marshall, Texas. After having done a basic check of the room upon check-in on 6/19 on the third night I found an adult bed bug on the pillow next to me head while in bed reading. Captured it in a medicine bottle and took it down to front desk., where there were two staff members. They were both horrified, and checked to see if there was another room. The hotel did not have anything else available, and as I told them, after three nights it wouldn't make any difference. Returned to the room and made a thorough search prior to attempting to go to sleep. Found and captured six additional bed bugs in different stages/sizes of the life cycle and shut them in another medicine container. Three more appeared on the wall after I had disarranged the bed, but ran behind the headboard before I could capture them. Slept a few fitful hours, had some bites on my hands and torso upon awakening. Returned to the front desk at 7;00 AM the next morning nd spoke with the manager on duty. She had been left information from the gentlemen I had spoken with on the night shift. She immediately and profusely apologized, comped my entire three night stay, applied additional rewards points to my travel account. I requested large sized trash bags to enclose all of my luggage prior to departing the hotel and received two bags per luggage piece. The manager assured me they would have their pest control firm in immediately. We discussed the need to evaluate and treat not only my room, but at the very least the rooms on either side of it. i carefully double bagged all of my luggage, tying each bag tightly and separately before adding the second bags on and doing the same. Proceeded down stairs and checked out. There were several guests in the lobby on both of my trips down on the morning I checked out, but I did not make any large exclamation or big scene about the situation, he management and staff were helpful and considerate, and obviously horrified. In spite of that I am unsure whether I will stay at this location again after this experience.
