Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

August 31st I noticed a roach-like bug on me shortly after I sat on the couch in the room. I notified Lance (the desk supervisor). He came up and showed me several more rooms. All the rooms smelled of mold and were questionable. There are numerous reports of infestation problems on the Yelp review. https://www.yelp.com/biz/berkeley-oceanfront-hotel-asbury-park-3 After numerous attempts to show us rooms with similar issues (bugs, moldy smells, etc) they told me we would get a refund and we left. The full refund wasn't received.

My daughters and I stayed at the Berkeley at the end of March 2019 for a dance competition. When we returned home the next day my oldest daughter had bites all over her arms, legs and even her eye. A week later my other daughter and I also had bites. Berkeley confirmed the room had bed bugs and reimbursed the room cost but not the cost of the home inspection I was forced to conduct due to their shabby hotel.
