Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Joliet North/Plainfield, April 8 through the 11th. First night, I didn't have any issues, but the second night I went to bed and woke up the next morning with 5 bites along my left arm. Brushed it off thinking there was a mosquito or something in the room. Went to bed the next night and work up at around midnight itching because of 2 new bites on my shoulder. I went downstairs to tell the front desk and see if they had anything to soothe my bug bites. I told the front desk and said ok. I also, informed the front desk as I checked out, I was told they would follow up with the manager and let me know what they find.
