Bedbug Reviews

On 6-3-2019 I checked into the Holiday Inn Express in Shelbyvilla KY. Upon arrival my 1st Impression was good. The place had recently been remodeled and everything looked clean and fresh. I checked into room 302, and checked EVERYTHING thoroughly in my room for signs of bed bugs (as I always do) there were no signs so I figured good to go right?! WRONG. I was laying in bed around 11:00 pm doing some last minute paperwork for my job, when I caught something out of the corner of my eye crawling on the white comforter coming towards me. It startled me so I jumped up and looked, and to my horror it was a bed bug. I immediately jumped out of bed, and grabbed a kleenex off the dresser to kill it with, but when I went to kill it, I saw it fall in between the bed and the night stand. I tore the room apart after this. Sheets completely off the bed, mattress completely off the box springs, box springs completely off the frame. I took pictures down pulled the base boards off the wall, and never found another single bug, I did however find the 1st one I saw and was able to kill it. It was without a doubt a bed bug. I also found the hull of a bed bug, and the sheets upon further inspection had fresh looking blood down at the bottom of them (not from me, i never received a single bite) so they had obviously not changed them! (NASTY) I checked the sheets when I originally checked in, and found nothing, but when I took them completely off the bed is when I found it. There were also tiny black specs like bed bug fecal matter on just a couple of spots on the mattress. Nothing noticible at all, that's why I missed it the 1st time. By this time it was 2:00 AM. I went and got the lady at the front desk, and she came up and looked at what I had killed. She agreed that it was definitely a bed bug, and immediately called her manager at 2:00 in the morning. The manager made sure I got a new room, however that didn't ease my mind much, I moved rooms but was still too worried to go to sleep, so after spending another couple of hours checking my new room out, and also checking my luggage thoroughly, I ended up staying awake all night after working 20 hrs, taking a real quick shower, and checking out about 5:00 AM. Not how I wanted to spend my night, but oh well I guess. Life goes on. I was informed upon check out that there would be NO Charge for my stay, and that 302 had been closed down and was going to be treated even though no other bugs were found. It was an unfortunate situation, but I think management handled it well.
