Serious bedbug issues for the whole building! I moved into 310 in 2014 and I was not told anything about the long serious bedbug history in the building (I later found out by calling the bedbug extermination company). After I moved in, I continuously saw extermination companies visiting the building. From around April 2016 I started getting bites and saw some bedbugs around, so I contacted the extermination team to come and clean the place. However, it did not work at all. The bedbugs came back a few weeks after and it all became much worse. I was literally afraid to fall asleep. At the end of August when I flipped over my mattress, I saw over 200 bedbugs! I immediately moved out of the building and demanded compensation from the landlord. The janitor had a terrible attitude and blamed me for everything. The landlord also tried to threaten me and showed absolutely no regrets. So I had to sue the landlord, and after almost 2 years of waiting, the Regie du Logement ordered the landlord to pay me $1200 and I won the case. If you ever encounter such case, you can terminate the lease right away because the apartment is no longer in suitable living condition. Also if the landlord refuses to compensate, sue them! This is for justice, so that they know they have to obey the law and respect their tenants (many are students like me). It is 100% a win case, though we have to be patient. Finally, please spread the words, as for a business, reputation is number 1. Also don't forget to keep all your evidence in order to present to the judge.
