Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

8-14-2020 Country inn and suites in Mount Orab,Ohio. I woke up at 6:30 this Friday morning with the intentions of checking out at 7:30am after i would load up all my belongings that were in room 104 from my 5 day stay here for work. As I lifted my personal pillow up off the bed I took notice to a red bug crawling on the pillow that was under mine. I proceeded to try and kill as I lifted the next pillow amd proceeded to pull the sheets and comforter down towards the foot of the bed to find the bug i was after and to my surprise there were a dozen of these red colored bugs crawling underneath the sheets and stuff. So i smashed one and picked it up to better examine what type of big it was. After looking at a few more of the bugs 1 dead and 2 live ones I found out they were actually bed bugs. Now the room i was staying im was a 2 queen size double bed room. So I proceeded to strip down the other bed which was made since Monday morning because when I checked in late Sunday night I actually slept on that bed first. Once I stripped tye sheetz off the second bed yet again there were several bed bugs underneath the made uo sheets as well. I was furious over this discovery because cone to find out one of my co-workers staying in one of the other hotels room here at the countryside inn, u found out they had to spray his room ths day before because he found some in his room and unfortunately he was bitten several times by them. I actually was really lucky that I dont believe to have any bites from my room at all. So I went to the front desk as the owners were coming into the hotel first thing to start their daily cleaning rooms and taking care of their hotel needs. I approached the front desk and said good morning to the desk person and calmly without saying anything ignorant,loud, or using any cuss words to him and asked if he could come to room 104 so I could respectfully show him the problem and not expose to everyone in the lobby what the problem was. And without blinking an eye this worthless,lazy,poor excuse of an owner of a big hotel looks directly at me and says I'm very busy and I dont have time for you or your problems. Soni quietly said you need to address this issue in person sir that its a really big problem. And again got told his exact works were[ I dont have time for you or your lies about tye room because it is a clean place.] So I said something derogatory towards him walked back to the room and scooped up live amd dead bedbugs on a pice of paper and walked back up front and threw them on tye front desk and began to act very loud amd ugly towards this man because of how he treated me amd made me feel like a pice of crap and that i dont matter. Well it gor his attention as i told everyone in the lobby the whole hotel has bedbugs. Which all could have been avoided if he would have not been rude or ignorant towards me. So we walk to room 104 that I was in and I showed him all the bugs. Now all the sudden he is apologetic and says that he will turn heaters on and strip the beds to rid of these bugs. Which we all know that will not guarantee the extermination of them nor the eggs.

May 2018 on Trip Advisor I personally negotiated a rate with one of the owners for me and 2 coworkers as we travel for work. We generally split the rooms 3 ways and rotate who gets their own room. When we arrived the reservation hadn't been put in the system. The desk clerk checked us in but said we needed to talk to the owner to get the rate fixed. It was late (after 10) and so we went to the rooms but the rooms hadn't had air conditioning turned on so they were super hot as it was 80+ degrees that day. So we turned on air and went to go eat. When we come back to the rooms I found a bed bug running on my bed. I caught it to show the staff then looked around and noticed that under the pillow there was dried blood drops. So not only do they have bed bugs but the staff hasn't changed the sheets since the last persons stay. We all three packed up and left, but I did talk to the from desk and tell her that I did not expect to be charged for the rooms considering what happened. She informed me that I had to talk to the owner. The next day the owner told me he would only refund one room since we only found the bed bugs in one room. I felt this was wrong as the rooms were very close to each other and you cannot sleep after having an experience like this. I had to find a new place to stay, and go through tons of precautions to make sure that I don't bring bugs to the next hotel and later to my home, and had a horribly unpleasant experience and I still got charged after checking out less that 3 hours after checking in. Whats worse is he charged me the regular rate and didn't even give me the discount that I negotiated with him. One of the worst hotel experiences I have had!

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
