1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Terrible, long-standing bedbug problem in this building, which is full of rent-controlled apartments with hoarders who refuse to let exterminators do treatments. Bedbugs are here to stay. Bedbugs come in through the walls no matter how many times the exterminator comes. Extremely painful and uncomfortable bites on my face, arms, and body, over a period of 6 months. Landlord is absent, does not care, no help - we never even met them in person despite my numerous calls and emails. The landlord and management company broke the law. The landlord failed to disclose the bedbug history to us when we signed the lease, which is a requirement under New York law. Rather than addressing the situation, the landlord offered us money to break our lease and move out. Happy to do so. This place traumatized me.
