I woke up in the middle of the night itching and feeling like bugs were crawling on me. I got up and looked at sheets and there were several bed bugs in bed and blood streaks.

We arrived around 11:30 pm on 7/18/22 from a long day of driving and were advised a room would be 100 dollars for the night (40 more than was advertised online). Weary from the road we accepted and they handed us keys to room 117. We went to find the room. When we opened the door our nostrils were assaulted with the stench of stale cigarette smoke (someone had obviously been ignoring the multiple no smoking signs), there were multiple cigarette burn holes on the blankets, sheets and pillowcases. The new room did appear to be an upgrade, it had a kitchenette, the AC worked, the room seemed clean and it didn't stink of cigarette smoke. We pulled the covers back and saw no noticeable signs of bugs. After feeding our kids we all settled into bed for the night. My sleep was disturbed by some itchy spots that started with my arms and spread to my legs, back and torso. I got out of bed maybe 2 hours after falling asleep and went into the bathroom to see why I was so itchy. I found welts all over my body and thought I had mosquito bites all over. When I walked out of the bathroom my wife asked me to turn on the light. Right in front of her on the bed was a bed bug crawling away. I grabbed one of the clear cups and scooped it up. She got out of bed and pulled back the covers where we saw 3 more of the same bugs scattering. I picked up another one with the plastic that had wrapped the cup and placed it with the other bug. We pulled the covers off our children on the other bed and found a bunch of bugs that had been feeding on them. We put all of our clothes in plastic bags, showered, and left the room. Went to the office and turned in the keys along with the bedbugs in the cup and stated I was not willing to pay for the room. The attendant said he would tell the manager but seemed completely unsurprised. I asked where the manager was and he said he wouldn't be in until 8 am and he'd call us then. We never received a call and I ended up calling them around 3:45 pm and was told by the woman who answered that they weren't going to issue a refund because that's their standard and if I didn't notice within a half hour of check in it was my fault. After a heated conversation she said manager was willing to refund half because we were there for 2 hours. I told them that was unacceptable and ended the call that had been going nowhere.

We checked in on Thursday July 28th, I thought I had gotten bit by mosquitoes, Friday evening I had a lot of bites showing up. Saturday morning is when I realized there was bed bugs. I talked to the staff and they said that they had come down and sprayed and cleaned them up. I still found others. I have bites all over, I didn't realize how bad they were and we were in town for a dog show and were not able to find another room. I had no idea that we were being eaten like that. When I told the owner that I had bed bugs bites he told me that they did not have them and caused me of bringing them in. I found out later after looking through this report that another person had found them and they were in the same room as we were. we were in Room 135.
