My husband saw a bed bug crawling across my pillow while I was laying in bed. It was about 7am. I immediately got out of bed. We got a paper cup and caught the bug and called the front desk. The housekeeping supervisor was sent to our room with a man from maintenance. They took the bug to a person to be identified. The bug was very small and red. They both came back a few minutes later and admitted it was a bedbug. The man with her stated that he has seen them in the linen in the laundry room but never one that small. He then said he usually finds them when he flips the mattresses and that's when he finds big ones. We were exasperated! I am an icu nurse and know how serious it is to take the proper precautions to prevent taking the bugs home. We were not given any instruction on what to do and have to fight with the front desk for compensation. I was left to feel helpless dirty and embarrassed. I did find small bites on my back. I was extremely disturbed that a housekeeper came to the door to see if we were checking out so she could clean the room as usual. Unbelievable I said. Our room should have been closed off and exterminated! Will never ever stay again!!!!
