Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Stayed on may 16, 2014. Advised them that we had come in contact with bed bugs. We were told they investigated and decided there were no bugs. When I asked to inspect he room, I was told no.

Checked in Nov. 18, 2017 sometime around 5 PM. Everything seemed fine. Next morning, my mother and I woke up. She went to grab breakfast and bring it back to the room around 8:30 AM. When she came back to give me my food, I noticed a bug crawling on the sheets where I had just been laying. I squashed it and took pictures to identify what it is, the bug bled. Immediately I told my mom to go down to the office and report it to the front desk, and she did just before 9 AM on Nov. 19, 2017. The motel desk clerk, Steven (he gives out different last names of Short/Davis) said he would send someone up. A lady came up to examine saw the dead bug that I squashed and took pictures of and found one more, and said "yes you have bed bugs, we can move you to another room if we were staying". I told her that I booked the room for one night and we were due to check out at 11 AM that day. She said okay, she would bring some cleaner, wash our laundry, and bring some items for our luggage to be disinfected. About 10 minutes later she returned with some bags and cleaner. She took all the linens off the bed placed them in a black garbage bag, bagged up our clothes to be washed and handed me a "hot shot bed bug killer packaged item" as well as a bottle of some "natural" bed bug killer spray, of which she told me to keep and use on my luggage, purses, etc. She took our clothes said it would take one hour total to was and dry. This was around 9:30 AM. Left us in the room with the bagged up linens. My mother and I proceeded to get ready for the day since we were checking out in a couple hours. However we could not shower or change clothes till the clerk came back with our stuff. We waited till 10:30 AM till I called down to the office and inquired about the laundry. Steven (Short/Davis) answered and said he would send the lady back up. She arrived about 10 minutes later with our clothes in a bag laundered and folded. Told us she had to wash and dry twice but did not find any bugs. I asked her for a couple extra garbage bags for our dirty clothes we were wearing, to sort/divide. She came back in a few minutes and handed them to us and took the black bags of linen that we had moved from inside the room to just outside our door. NOTE: during the wait for our clothes to be laundered we used the bed bug spray given to us, to spray down our bag and purses twice as well as our shoes and anything we had on the floor or near the bed. After we got our clean clothes it was pushing close to check out time, we hurried and showered and changed and packed up our stuff making sure to separate everything out into bags. By the time we left the room it was about 10 minutes after 11 AM, we put our stuff in the car and proceeded to the office. We checked our and inquired about receiving a refund for the room due to the inconvenience of having bed bugs, etc. The clerk, Steven, attempted to explain that it was not his problem we would need to contact someone else, at which my mom became frustrated and exclaimed that it is not fair that we had to be exposed to this. Steven got mad and checked us out. We asked for a name and contact information for who we should talk to regarding this matter, all he did was write down a phone number and walked away.

I didn't realize till I got home,Bed bug bites all over me and I stayed 3 nights 11/29/2017-12/01/2017 i did't bring much in side my home was working all day with clothes inside my car so i hope my car is not infested. I burned all the clothes and my suitcase. Hopefully I did not get any bugs in my girlfriends house. Days Inn needs to take care of this situation immediately. I would hope for a refund especially since its a good possibility all my clothes got infested. My girlfriend says I have bites all over me, so that bed must be very infested.

I booked a weekly stay for my sister who is disabled but functioning while she was between moving. She called me Monday evening and sent me pictures of her huge bug bites along her legs. It was awful. She also saw blood and a bug on the sheets. She went down and talked to a “Juan” and she said she had showed him her leg bites, but he wasn’t very helpful or sympathetic. I had my husband call and tell them that she needed to be moved and her clothes needed to be washed. He said he would do so, but my sister called and told us that he would not have the clothes washed. Long story short, they couldn’t find her another accessible room, but went into the room and removed the sheets, cleaned and sprayed. They also sprayed today (May 7, 2019). They really need to do something about this! I was mortified. My sister is 61 and has NEVER experienced this. She’s recovering from spinal surgery and a broken foot. She did her own laundry. Hopefully, they will not follow her to her next place. :-(

How to get rid of Bedbugs at home

If you find bedbugs in your home you should remove as much clutter and as many items as possible from your house. Replace all bedding and examine the box spring for bedbugs.
