Spoiler Alert.....BED BUGS!!!!! I've stayed at HI in the past in other states and have found them a great value. I booked a couple nights over the Labor Day weekend to enjoy Virginia Beach with my girl. After a long drive, I ordered in, hopped in the sack, and started watching a movie. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement and when I turned to look at my pillow, found a bug I didn't recognize (-never saw bed bugs before). Figuring this might be one, I jumped up and pulled the fitted sheet back -lo and behold, the family was found!!! UGH!!!! I can't even begin to express how creeped out we were!!! I called the front desk and the guy came up and started taking pictures with his phone. He said he'd check on another room but I asked for another location. He called me back and said there was nothing elsewhere but he could move me from the 4th floor to the 1st floor. We'd already started dressing because I wasn't spending any more time in that room than was necessary. I told him we were leaving and to credit my stay. We ran out of there so fast it was comical in hindsight. What a total bust of a holiday weekend getaway -we even left the food that was just delivered! I'll say it again....UGH!!!!!
