On July 6, my friend booked into the Padre South Hotel for two nights; she had a job interview the following day. When we got up on the morning of the 7, I noticed spots of blood on the sheet and remembered something bitting me during the night. I then pulled down the sheets and there it was - a tiny brownish bug and blood spots on my pajamas. I then checked around the edges of the mattress and found tiny signs of blackish bugs plus a yellow stain down side of the mattress that look like urine. I had my friend check my back, there were tiny red spots. Later I was itching and found spots on my legs and neck. We immediately packed up and reported the incident to the reception area who took photos and said the Manager would call us -- which she did not. We finally returned to the hotel where I confronted the Manager, who was belligerent and rude. She was talking to two hotel workers who appeared to be heading up the elevator. She said the bug people were on the way and she would then make her decision as to whether issue a refund or not. I then drove straight to the South Padre Health Dept, showed my bites to the inspector in charge plus, I had wrapped the little bug in a kleenex. He said he'd check but if the hotel had already contacted the 'bug company' they most probably have taken care of the problem and there would be NOTHING he could do. 'Excuse Me' he later called to advise me that he had checked the mattress and room and there were NO SIGNS OF BUGS at the time he arrived, that the bug company had already taken care of it! My friend has never heard a word back from the Manager of Padre South Hotel, 1500 South Padre Island, Tx. I've submitted pictures to bedbug report.gmail.com and will follow through with this concern to all the necessary regulating agencies and media.

Bed bug infestation. We had a thirty day reservation. Stayed one night on Sept 25, 2023 and awoke to bed bug bites all over. Dots on sheets. Their Rental canceled reservation and gave refund and was of no further help. No info on how to not spread the infestation to future units or our home, Not at all happy with the handling of situation. We were told by employee that they had been told by previous guest about bed bugs in unit, but so know evidence.
