My husband and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn of Marriott at Philadelphia, PA address 8800 Bartram Ave. Philadelphia Pennsylvania 19153 USA from August 15 to August 16, 2017...just the one night for a doctor appt. he had in Philly. We were given a room on the 2nd floor...room 229. I had checked for bedbug signs but saw no obvious ones. I thought it was clean but then I had a nymph bedbug appear on my pillow which was in my lap. I caught it and squashed it throwing it in the bathroom trashcan. When I came back there was an adult bedbug on the same pillow! I quashed it in a napkin and thought I killed it, but every time I opened the napkin slightly it would start moving and try to run. I took this bedbug to the front desk. She apologized and gave us a new room on the 4th floor (the highest) room 428. She threw the bedbug in her trash saying I killed because she saw the blood on the napkin. I informed her the blood must have been from previous victims and it just regurgitated it because it was indeed not dead. She then tied up the entire bag of trash. I went back to our room and told my husband we were moving to a new room. He got up from his bed and went to get dressed and I saw another adult bedbug on his pillow! I took a napkin and smashed it and twisted it into the napkin. When we arrived in our new room I did a more thorough inspection. The mattresses were ripped open and hanging..I could lift the entire top section of the mattresses up and the foam, springs, boards...all of it was visible. I'm guessing this must have been done to allow a fumigation of the mattresses for a previous bedbug infestation. This hotel has only been opened since 2015 but was musty in every room and felt dirty. It's near the airport so lots of people coming and going. It had 4 out of 5 star reviews but I don't know why! I never wanted to see a real bedbug in my lifetime. Worst experience ever!
