Upon arrival, I searched my two queen beds for signs of bed bugs. I only found an unidentifiable, crushed bug in one of the beds. This crushed bug had obvious wings so I didn't feel too alarmed and just chose to sleep in the other bed. After getting dinner and watching a TV show, I plugged my cellphone charger and lifted my pillow to put my cellphone under my pillow. When I lifted my pillow, I saw several early instar bed bugs slowly crawling around. I immediately jumped out of bed and alerted my intern that we would be leaving. I went to the front desk for trash bags and informed them of my findings. They said they had never had problems with bed bugs before but that they would call the manager. Once I had showered, bagged up my items, and found another hotel, my intern and I went down to cancel our stay. Fortunately, we did not have to press to get the room charges canceled; the woman at the front desk was very sympathetic.
