Recommended tips after hotel check-in:
1. Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Stayed at Days Inn in Taos, NM on 2/1/2021. The hotel was dirty and very unkempt. If it wasn't so late we would not have stayed. I should've known to check thoroughly for bed bugs. I woke up with a few itchy spots and then actually saw a bed bug crawling on the sheet. I caught it and squished it and it was filled with fresh, bright red blood. Management refunded me but did not offer any kind of apology and just seemed to want me out of there.

Checked in at 2:30 on July 24, 2022 checked out with full refund same day at 4:30 because of bed bugs crawling on floor, chair and foot stool Didn't check anywhere else. Ffront desk didn't ask any questions once I showed him pics, didn't ask if we wanted to switch rooms, just very quickly gave a refund. They did come and look in the room while we were leaving and said the bugs come inside bc of the heat, no these are very clearly bed bugs. There are tons of prairie dogs on the property so it is possible that's the cause of the infestation, but these were BIG bed bugs and lots of them!
