08/29/19-08/30/19 On the night of 08/29/19 I checked into room #215 I was exhausted from a 5hr. drive so immediately laid down about 10:45 p.m. I woke up in the middle of the night and seen a bug in the bed. I killed the bug and it left a blood-stained on the sheets; the room had double queens so I just hopped into the other bed I didn’t think much of it. The next day I was moved because there was no access point for internet on that side of the hotel. I was moved to rm #222 the next morning when I woke up, I seen several bite marks on my chest and neck; initially I thought they were mosquito bites it was not until I checked out few hours later, I started itching uncontrollably. I then looked up bedbugs and sure enough that bug I killed in room #215 was indeed a bedbug. I went to the Walmart pharmacy to get Cortizone-10 and few days later landed in urgent care. When I contacted the Hotel the staff member stated that they would inform the mgr. I requested that both rooms be checked and the final report be forwarded to me. It took several calls following up before I received the report. The staff member stated that the mgr. said the rooms were fine and I probably had an allergic reaction to something. I politely stated I have never had a reaction to anything in 38 yrs. September 05, 2019 I finally receive a partial report from the sale mgr as followed: “Checked in with front desk. No issues reported in logbook. Staff mentioned seeing a bedbug in rooms and 222. I didn’t find any activity but I did treat rooms for bedbugs. Treated rooms 116, 210, 211, 213, 217, 218, 219, 220, 221, and 222. Checked bait boxes, cleaned devices, and replaced bait as needed. Treated exterior perimeter for crawling insects. Maintenance department checked both rooms 215, 222 early morning and did not find anything either Tech suggestion to treat rooms around the area but according to both people nothing was found. We are treating room 222 because guest reported that she was fine the first night, Second room was fine too nothing found in these rooms.” As seen above the room #215 where I killed the bedbug was not listed as checked by inspector however checked by maintenance. I requested a refund for each night and a refund was issued.
