Woke up to about 30 large red bumps on my face, neck, arms, hands, and legs. Hotel management informed me that the same room had been treated for suspected bed bugs recently. They were polite, but only discounted my total stay by $50 (I still had to pay $250 for a 3 day stay.

I flew in on an emergency Sunday night 8/25 to Norfolk, VA. This hotel was only a couple of blocks away from the naval hospital where my family member was hospitalized. Booked a room for the night, room 109, with no issues. I needed to book two additional nights and because I'd had no issues the first night, I figured why not? Two additional nights would have been Monday and Tuesday night, checking out Wednesday morning. First room I was given on Monday (210) night had urine and pubic hairs on the toilet seat and no security latch on the door. Spoke to the kind lady at the front desk and she moved me to room 211. Still no security latch, but I wasn't going to keep going back. While at the hospital I noticed the bug bites on my right shoulder and left hand. Went to the hotel Tuesday night to explain the situation and to ask for a refund for the second night. Desk clerk stated only the GM could issue a refund and asked me to come back tomorrow morning. Went back and was told he had taken the day off. Called corporate to report and they also said only the GM could issue a refund because they were independently owned. Went back this morning only to have the GM tell me he could no longer issue a refund because I called corporate to report. I was never rude nor disrespectful until I told Jeff, the GM, that his smug look wasn't helping the situation. He yelled "well if you don't like the look I'm giving you, get the f*** out of my hotel" went into his office and locked the door. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! Currently on the phone with corporate trying to resolve this mess. Oh, the GM accused my of lying about the bug bites because according to him, I stayed with my family member at her place. My family member is still in the hospital! Plus, she lives in the barracks on base.
