Bedbug Reviews

We stayed at the Mirage, LV for my daughter’s team function for 8 long days. My daughter saw a fast moving “beetle” crawling across our bed the 2nd day of our trip. I did not see it. However, 4 days later(during the day, 11am) I saw a brown bug moving quickly across the white bed cover. I grabbed a tissue + caught it + placed it in a clear plastic sandwich bag I’d used to hold my charging cord. It was obvious it was a bedbug, but I looked up bedbug pics just to confirm, + yup. -Textbook bedbug. It was huge! And fast. I do admit I freaked out. We searched the room + couldn’t find another one, but honestly, if there’s one there’s more. We quickly packed up our crap + called the front desk. Looking back I should have just gone downstairs to the front desk, but at that point I wanted to keep the issue quiet out of respect for the hotel, who I thought would be helpful, gracious + accommodating. Boy was I wrong. Finally an employee at the front desk (monotone) said they would send up a specialist to investigate, + if we had proof they *may* move us to a different room. I immediately sent them a picture of the bedbug + they became very quiet on the other end. She replied, it seems to look like a bedbug, but the “specialist” will need to confirm. I was like, are you kidding me, it’s a freaking bedbug… I was then told they would transfer us to another room + someone would bring up new room keys. I told them we wanted our luggage dealt with bc we didn’t want to take any bedbugs with us to our new room, or worse, take them home. The blasé front desk person said someone would come up + take our luggage/bags + they would be heat treated. 4 hours later someone came up to get our bags, it wasn’t the specialist, it was just an employee collecting our stuff + he seemed nervous to enter our room + he was wearing disposable gloves. He quickly piled our stuff on a rolling cart for boxes + left. I then called the front desk to remind them we were *still* waiting for our new room keys + they said they were moving us to the 14th floor. We never did see the “specialist.” So who knows if there even was a specialist. I hope they didn’t move someone in to our old room. They treated us like they never believed us, even after I gave them the pictures of the bedbug, + gave them the bedbug in the plastic bag (which they asked to have to give to the “specialist”) + they still treated us poorly. I found the bedbug at 11am, + we didn’t even get a new room until early evening. After we changed rooms we began the process to get reimbursed only after arguing with them over + over, did they give us only 3 nights, + took off the hotel fees. I think they should have taken off the days we had to stay in the bedbug room, but nope. It was just a horrible experience, + we were not treated well from the very beginning. Do not stay at the Mirage. Even if we didn’t find the bedbug, the place is dirty + falling apart, + the customer service is unbelievably awful.

10/6/2023 Kept getting bites, but thought they were mosquitoes until I saw blood on the pillow. Reported it to a manager, & they quickly had the room inspected & confirmed there were bedbugs in the room. Offered to move us, but because we were checking out, they refunded our money instead.
