Bedbug Reviews

I moved in 10/23/2018. Was bitten on 10/25/2018. Was unsure at first what I was bitten by, I'd never dealt with or even knew what a bedbug looked like until I moved in here. 10/27/2018 I had found an adult and nymph on the bed. I caught them and put the bugs in a cup. 10/28/2018 I took the cup to the onsite manager of the motel and told here that the room has bedbugs and also showed her the cup with the bugs in it and also the bites I had sustained. The response I was given was she thought it was taken care of because they replaced the carpet. So she was aware of this issue and didn't say anything to me, but willingly took my money. K also gave me a spray bottle of bedbug spray so that I can spray the room. Which I did but continued to get bites. An exterminator supposedly came and sprayed my room. K told me the day before he was coming so I prepared the room by taking apart the bed and bed frame, took drawers out of dresser, turned furniture upside down, and pulled the furniture away from walls so he can access the baseboard throughout the room. I was gone at least 7 hours that day washing everything, all my clothes and bedding. When I returned to my room it didn't appear to be any different then the way I left it. 11/3/2018, three days after they supposedly sprayed I found two adult bedbugs on my bed. I immediately reported this to manager and she said she would call her boss and get back to me. Later that same day Kathy said that it's normal to see a few "stragglers" after spraying. K also said the exterminator would be back in two weeks to re-spray. 11/21/2018 I asked Kathy when the exterminator would be coming back for the re-spray. Kathy had no idea when he was coming back. Kathy also shared with me that in her opinion the exterminator waters down his spray because when he sprays the bedbugs seem to always come back. I have took it upon myself to get home remedies items to prevent from getting bit anymore. I bought a mattress encasement because the mattress belongs to the motel. You would think that sense my wall is also Kathy's bedroom wall she would want to get this taken care of. It's now 12/12/2018 and I am still finding bedbugs on the wall that I share with Kathy! I haven't been bitten sense 11/10/2018 because I douse myself with 91% alcohol and also the bed and bedding gets sprayed with alcohol. I pulled the bed away from the wall and vacuum everyday some times twice a day, every few days I wipe all the furniture with alcohol. I pay for the alcohol not the motel. I liked this place because it is by the river and quiet, it's away from all the crap you see downtown. The rent is reasonable and I can have my dog living there. However, The Old 40 West Motel is owed by slumlords and they employ incompetent people to run their property. I would of been out of here after my rent was up but as you know the housing market is for shit right now. So I will continue to make due with this place until something better comes up. Talking to the manager, K is pointless. She doesn't have a clue and nothing has been taken care of sense the first time I brought it to her attention.
