07/28/18- 08/04/2018 We stayed in rental MH175. Unit had a bed bug infestation we were unaware of. We ended up bringing the bugs home with us and are now battling them with professional help. The staff tried to make it sound like it was our fault when we reported it. They states they've has no other complaints though an infestation was confirmed by their exterminator a few days after we called them and told them that we had our home inspected 3 days after arriving home and still receiving bites.

August 30, 2021Rented a house #1112 at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. After removing fitted sheet a bed bug was crawling on top of the matteess cover. Moving fast. Was able to put it in a sandwich bag. I took it to the office and asked Tammy (manager), if she knew what it was. She replied, "unfortunately i do." She said this unit had been recently treated. I guess it wasn't treated enough. I noted the incident on paper, as well as noting there were ants in the kitchen, and roaches in the bathroom. She took the paper and the bed bug. I wanted a refund, she refused. She said she was not refunding me the full amount of my stay. I asked for part of my $$$ paid. She said she would call me. Later that same day, she called me and said that the company they use to treat rentals had been there, tore down all the beds, covers, headboards, and they did not see any sign of bed bugs and was not treated. I know that if one bed bug is found, there are others. We did not stay ourselves to search out more bedbugs, but left immediately. The bed bug was found in the bed that my 4 year old grandson was sleeping in. Per phone call, she said she would not compensate me at all, (after stating in the office that she would), because no infestation was found. But when i mentioned calling the health dept. and leaving bad reviews, she said she was willing to talk about it. She asked me if i wanted to give her a $$ of what i thought would be a fair refund, or did i want her to give me a $$ of what she thought would be fair. I told her to give me an amount. She offered me $224 of the $1125 paid. I then asked for $300 and she refused and informed me that we weren't getting into a bidding war. She then hung up. She was very rude.
