We stayed in room 211 on 4/10/18, other than being extremely loud and having an unusual chemical smell there was nothing to report. We returned for 2 more nights, 4/13-4/14. This time, hoping to avoid some of the noise we requested a top floor room and were given room 311. The hall and building still had the unusual odor, but our room did not. The room appeared fairly clean, the main room are a manufactured wood and the bedrooms are carpet. We slept well the first night 4/13, although road noise was still a significant issue. The second night, 4/14, I noticed some unusual itchy bumps on my shoulders as I was getting ready for bed. I told my husband I was worried they were bed bugs. I did a basic check of the bedroom. The mattress & boxsprings were not encased in a protective cover, but they appeared to be clean, I found no bugs, casings or stains. The duvet hovever did have small blood stains, they did not look aged/brown, they were red and varied in size. The sheets all appeared clean and free of bed bug damage. I woke in the night to the feeling of bugs crawling all over me, but did not find the actual bugs. In the morning I had no less than 30 obvious bites, and now 6 hours later I can easily identify over 50. They are red, itchy and cover my face, arms, torso, and ankles. My husband and son do not appear to have any bites at all. The first stop on our way home from the airport was to get some bed bug killer. Interestingly, the manager of the hotel claims they have never had bed bugs, yet the bed bug spray happens to smell just like the unusual odor we noticed at the hotel. The manager did offer to refund our “infested” nights, but that certainly doesn’t take away my physical suffering nor will it eliminate the amount of work that will be required to ensure our home doesn’t become infested as well.
