Bedbug Reviews

Anonymous

I recently stayed in room 406 at the Double Tree by Hilton. My stay was two nights from April 9th-11th. On the second night at 11:15 pm when I had turned the lights off and rolled over in bed I noticed something moving by my arm. I immediately grabbed my cell phone and turned on the flashlight. I had found a bed bug. I caught it and bagged it in a ziplock bag to turn in to the maintenance team who confirmed immediately it was a bed bug. They had me bag all my clothing to be dried on high heat then washed and then dried on high heat again. Which is the right thing to do. Then they moved my hotel room. The front desk attendant came to my room with her pant legs rolled up with rubber bands. I had to walk to my new room in only a hotel robe on. The staff at first refused to move the people in the room next door to mine (408) then about 45 minutes went by and they finally moved them. The next morning some of my clothes had been ruined due to the high heat cycles. I asked for reinbursement for clothing that was damaged. I did tell them before putting my clothes on high heat that some was dry clean only or low heat drying items but hey stated that was their policy. The GM was first to blame me for the bed bug once they apparently found no other evidence in my hotel room. That was the most humiliating and terrible thing someone could say at this point. I did not bring in the bed bug. It was under my covers inside of my bed. Then when I went to pick up reinbursement for my Clothing they made me turn in all damaged items. I had to go out to my car and dig through trash bags to pull out the items. Which was fine but when I turned them In they inspected them at the front desk in the lobby. Another humiliating moment. Some of the front desk attendants were very concerned but the GM only cared about making me think that I brought it into the room. What a terrible experience. The hotel is selling in 14 days according to the GM and hopefully they will resolve any problems the hotel is facing.
