9/6/2017 My family and I checked into the Calypso operated by Beach Reunion rentals and several rooms were found to have bedbugs. The house was a three story home and two room on the top floor had bedbugs so numerous we could see them crawling all over the mattresses and bed covers. My niece and her fiancé captured several of the bedbugs (4) and placed the bedbugs in a container to show the property managers. My cousin who was staying in the third floor bedroom across from my niece and her fiancé has bedbugs as well. He woke up to days later with numerous bedbugs bites all over his torso, arms and legs and feet. His bites were so numerous and so severe he had to be treated with injectable medications and see his doctor when he returned home. There was also a room on the second floor which we saw numerous bedbugs in as well. In addition most of the mattresses in the Beach condo had bedbug mattress covers on them and some were even double covered! The owner Jim Cochran and his property managers Jessica and Lori were very rude and condescending toward our family despite Mr. Cochran admitting he started having a bedbug problem starting about a year ago! Mr. Cochran was not only rude, but he was accusatory toward my family and refused to accept responsibility for his pest infestation at this Property and at his Over The Top property as well. My family paid closed to 8,000 dollars of which Beach Reunion Renatls only refund 500 dollars and they refuse to refund the remaining balance. The owner also will not accept the fact that he has a bedbug problem and this places other families at risk when renting from Beach Reunion Rental properties.
