Check in was Saturday June 17, 2017 and reservation check out was to be Wednesday June 21, 2017. Early Tuesday morning (June 20, 2017) I was making the bed in the master bedroom and notice 2 bedbugs on the sheet. After further inspection, more bedbugs were found on the bed, with the box spring being the area most affected. I immediately took pictures and live video to show the owner of the cabin via text message. Owners were very responsive and expressed their sympathy & said they called their pest control to come out. We left early and drove home the 11 hour drive instead of continuing our vacation, which was to also go to Louisville, KY and a stop in Toledo, OH. We were offered a partial refund. Garbage bagged ALL of our belongings to ensure we didn't transport any bugs home and left items outside until bags could be laundered one by one. Extremely disappointed that the housekeeping staff they hired isn't doing a thorough job checking for bedbugs. The mattress pad under the sheet was covered with old/dark tiny blood spots and the plastic mattress protector was ripped in many places. The bed in the loft had no plastic protector on the mattress to help prevent bugs. Luckily, we inspected that bed (our son slept there) and we didn't find any bedbugs. Please travelers, be diligent in checking for bedbugs! Our vacation was ruined.
