I've lived here about a year and a half now. Initially there were no problems. I never complained and didn't have any issues until June when I moved from a two bedroom to a three bedroom. When I moved into the bigger apartment, I asked the office who cleans their apartments and if the person before me was disgusting because the apartment was gross! Nothing was clean and there was even gum in the "new" carpet that I had to dig out. There were what looked like urine stains down most of the cabinet fronts. Paint is peeling and chipped. The bathrooms were dirty. I had to do a thorough cleaning of a place that should have been clean. It took over a month for them to start making repairs that needed made and we went almost two months without a fully functional stove. I got my full deposit back from the apartment I moved out of. It was left in move in condition. The apartments had a new tenant in our old apartment within a week of us moving out of it. Within two days of moving into the three bedroom, I started getting bit by something. I thought it was spiders or mosquitos. I contacted the office and they supposedly had the apartment sprayed twice when the problem wasn't remedied with one spray. I continued to get bit and even ended up at the emergency room from the bites on June 19,2016. I had over 100 bites on my arms alone. I was reading up on the bites and it came up about the possibility of bedbugs. So I started looking, not knowing what to look for since I had never dealt with bedbugs before. But I read directions as to where to look and what to look for and, sure enough, there were bedbugs. Mind you, we never had them in the old apartment and the bites began showing up within two days of moving into the three bedroom. The bedbugs were in the apartment they moved us into. Here we are 3 1/2 months later and the bedbugs are just now getting under control. I can finally, over the last week and a half, stay in my room. I had to throw my bed out and get a new bed. I was assured that after several times of spraying that the bedbugs would be gone. I tried to sleep in my bed several times and each time I got bit. I would wake up and find the bedbugs in my bed and on my walls. I have taken many photos and videos of the bedbugs on each date and have saved them. I even had to get 9 inches of my hair cut off because they were getting in my hair and even biting my scalp. The beautician even confirmed they were bed bugs and that my scalp had multiple bites from them. The apartments management got mad each time I went up and complained about the bedbugs and they would only have the exterminators back out again on their assigned days to be here which is every two weeks. Last month I only paid rent for a two bedroom because I can't even use my third bedroom I pay for. I got letters on my door about this unpaid rent, threatening eviction. I paid the unpaid portion of the rent today and now plan on filing a lawsuit against the apartments for the damages (physical, mental and emotional as well as damage to my possessions) that has occurred over the last 3 1/2 months. The management has been messing with us over this issue for the last month and a half to two months. They have talked about evicting us, they have started tagging our vehicles and are trying everything to make our lives even more miserable than these bed bugs have already made them. Management has told me it isn't their problem that we had bed bugs. I told her(manager) I was contacting an attorney and she said she hopes I do and tried to say we brought the bedbugs into the three bedroom. As I said, we never had bedbugs in the two bedroom and I got a full deposit back and they had new tenants there in a week's time of me moving out. It has been exceedingly frustrating and a lot of drama has been put in us that we never asked for...all because we moved into a three bedroom apartment that already was home to bed bugs.
