We arrived here last night Nov 20th, today morning I found one on my bed, I killed it, so I reviewed the bed and so far I found at least four more, immediately I called customer service and demand to be move to another room, the Petcontrol person came and I show them one of them. Very dessapointed and disgusting ....I travel with a regular base and this is the first time it happens , we inspect each other and so far looks like we do not have beaten... Let\'s see, I will inspect my little son more closely later...

On Friday, June 26, 2019 I woke up to make breakfast and get my boys up for a fun filled day at Disney World. Once I pulled covers off my little one, I noticed a bug crawling from under him. I froze and then quickly screamed for both children to get out of the bed immediately. I have never seen a bed bug in my life in person, but seen photos on the internet. I killed the bug and sent the boys to my room and called the front desk and requested a new room asap. I was told, someone would need to come and check the room first and see what bugs they were. I don’t even remember how many phone calls took place, but it got to the point where I had to threaten coming down to the Town Center and telling everyone what my family experienced. I would have preferred to leave the resort all together, but with so much money spent already on Disney, we had no where to go in such a short amount of time. The maintenance guys quickly confirmed bed bugs when they came up and told us not to enter the room again. We were already completely packed at that point. Instead of waiting for maintenance to contact the front desk, I called them myself and let them know, BED BUGS, were in our suite. After talking with security, the manager finally called to let us know we would be moved and that he would refund my requested 2 nights. The resort sent up a someone from concierge who let us know were in a “old building’ and we would be moving to the 4000 building which was completely new and next to everything. He said we would be so much happier there. WOW, what a complete difference of service we suddenly received and the new room was a complete 180 degree difference. It was so much nicer! Why were we put in such an older suite with a bed bug infestation? How was that going to impress to investing in a timeshare with Westgate? Fast forward to Friday evening, my 6 year old began complaining about his ear itching. (photo attached) I was asked if any of my kids were bitten by security, but security and the resort failed to mention, bites can take hours to show up. Every time I looked at my child, I cried. How could this happen? How could our dream vacation turn so quickly into a nightmare? What was more alarming is after the move, no one followed up with us, no call from management. Well…actually the manager left me a voicemail letting me know I could call anytime, but he called my cell phone anonymously, so no way to reach him. Calls to the front desk were an epic failure.

My son woke up in the middle of the night the first night we were there, 10/11/2019, complaining that he had itchy bumps all over him and freaking out that he was being bitten by bugs. On the afternoon 10/12/2019 my husband said maybe we should check his bed for bugs. We lifted up his mattress and found signs of bed bugs on the box spring. Called the front desk. They sent security out who took pictures of the bed and my son and then had us sign a form saying we were not calling EMS or law enforcement. They then sent in pest control who took all of my children's belongings and threw them out of the room in a pile in the kitchen area. Knowing what I do about bed bugs I was trying to bag up their belongings, but they just threw them out of the room. Then we were told we would to have treat their bags in the dryer. The post control people left. Someone from the front desk called and told us they had comped our 150 exchange fee, and had a new room for us, and we were to leave our belongings in the room. Another security guard showed up to "seal" our room with all our belongings inside. At 430PM we left the resort and went to visit with friends. When we got back at 1130PM none of our belongings were in the new room. We went to the front desk and after a lot of negotiating were we allowed to go back into our old room with 3 security guards escorting us. We were allowed to get our sons seizure medications and any other medications, something for breakfast and our toothbrushes, but were told we could not take clothing items. We were left in a new room with nothing. All the groceries that we had bought, our clothes, our swimsuits, our toiletries, everything was locked in the old room. And by the looks of the room pest control had not been back since they showed up time first time. It is the next day 10/13/2019 and we still do not know when we will get our belongings back.
