Bedbug Reviews

On the night of 7/8/15 I checked in to the motel and did an inspection of the room and found a live male bedbug on the wooden 2x6 bedframe under the boxspring in room 222. Informed the nice lady at the front desk and she moved me to a new room and told me speak to the manager in the morning. The next morning the manager said that the general manager said it was a tick and would let the pest control company know. It's clearly not a tick.

I've been fortunate enough to have had mostly good to great experiences at hotels all across the world. And if there's been a problem I've always been treated well and staff and management have done their best to resolve the problem. This was not the case at Best Western in Indian Oaks. I happened to get a heavily bed bug infested room when I checked in on September 8. I usually always check for bed bugs, but after more then a week on the road in different time zones I was tired and went straight to bed. Unfortunately I didn't see any bed bugs the first morning and I didn't experience any itching. However, when I woke up early after the second night I had a bug beside me in bed and blood stains on the sheets. Disgusted I jumped in the shower, and tried to shake my clothes and bags as much as possible. As I was in a rush to get to my flight out of Chicago I rushed downstairs and checked out. But of course I made the front desk staff aware of the fact that the room was infested by bed bugs. They reacted with doubt and said that they had to check with a pest control company. I asked them to have the manager call me. This was 7am on Sunday morning. By noon on Monday I hadn't received any calls from the hotel and I called them. They told me that the manager was out of the office and will call tomorrow. At this point my body was covered in bites, clearly showing the typical line of bites that bed bugs cause. I am not exaggerating when saying that I had about 200 bites on arms, Finally on Tuesday afternoon September 12th the Hotel Manager called. She was not very friendly and didn’t offer a proper apology and when asked if they had taken care of the bed bug problem she said they were still waiting for pest control… She offered me to reimburse me for one night of the two, which I didn't accept and she reimbursed me for the second night as well. That is basically all I’ve heard from Best Western, my mail to corporate was responded to with a generic answer and no follow up. VERY disappointed.
