Bedbug Reviews

Anonymous

We have been living here for years and never had any issues. About 7 months ago (September 2014) I started to find several bites on myself. I thought it was some type of spider bite, since I have never dealt with bed bugs before. Several days after it started there was a knock on my door. It was the office manager and the exterminator the complex uses. I was informed that my downstairs neighbor was infested. I told the manager and exterminator that I have been bit 20 times by something. They came in and checked my apartment. They said there was nothing there and actually told me to go to the doctors (not that it would do any good). They did NOT treat my apartment. A few days later before going to bed I found a live and a dead bedbug under my comforter. We called the office and told them what I had found. They sent out the exterminator to see them the next day. They decide now to treat our apartment. They did a bed bug treatment which required us to take all bedding and clothing to a laundromat and put everything in the driers there because they get very hot. We had to take all pictures and mirrors off the walls as well. We also, got rid of one mattress and box spring where the biting occurred. We then had a follow up treatment a week later, and a week after that. We were OK for a couple months. The man who was infested moved out a few days after all this started. They found thousands of bugs in his apartment. They told us that our apartment and the one below were now fine. So then 2 months after the treatments I started being bit again. It was also after someone had moved in the apartment downstairs. They claim that they don't know where they are coming from, and that he didn't bring them with him when he moved in. I asked them if they were in the walls and ceiling/floors. They claim that they are not, but have no explanation to where they are coming from. It has been six months and we have put out over $300 for new stuff, and we had to throw out our sofa. I can't get a new on until the issue is totally resolved, and that will cost several hundred dollars more. In the six months they have only done the bed bug treatment 1 time, and every other time they have just done some other type of bug treatment. We want to move to a bigger unit, but can't do anything until they get this taken care of. I'm so very pissed off. I've never had to deal with anything like this before moving to an apartment.
