11/11 8:15 AM- I notified management of the bites I had on my arms and legs and told them I suspected bed bugs. Ian at the front desk was not empathetic and initially acted as if he didn't believe me, but said he would have someone inspect the room and heat treat if there was a problem. He had me leave all my belongings in the room, including the clothes I was wearing (He gave me a robe) and had me wait in another room. Bed bugs were found and the room was heat treated, which took all day. I asked for the cost of the 3 nights I had been in the hotel to be waived and he only waived 1.5 of the nights. He also wanted me to stay in the same room again after the heat treatment. I left the hotel. This Intercontinental on Carnegie Avenue is on Cleveland Clinic's campus, next door to the main hospital. Most people staying there are in Cleveland for medical care as was I. Very disappointing experience.
