When we first entered room had to kill gnats. Then got into shower and noticed hairs on shower wall from previous guest. Woke up at 12:30AM and felt bug crawling on me! Got up and killed bug, took it to the office with the keys, left hotel and drove 12 hours to get home because we could not stand the thought of another hotel after this experience. So disappointed in Skyland because we had stayed there several times in the past and had enjoyed it.

We stayed in room 138 on August 12th. My 3 year old son found the bug(s) while we were drinking coffee on the outside porch. He started screaming "kill bugs", we run inside to see a dead bug with red blood. "Oh no!" Sure enough both beds were covered in 60 or so bedbugs, blood and black bedbugs droppings spots. Lifted off one of the headboards and behind it was eggs, nits, casings, three different sized bedbugs (shows how old they are). This was not a new infestation. Delaware North Management was less than receptive upon news of bedbugs, they did issue a refund for the stay. I reported the room to the National Park Concessionaire Manager who oversees the contractual obligations between third parties (Delaware North Corp) and the park. He reported back that in his investigation they found two more rooms with bedbugs. There was concerns and problems with Appledore and Craigin buildings for bedbugs due to bus trips using those buildings. He also told me that the same room was heat and chemical treated for bedbugs nine days prior to my stay on August 3rd.
