I stayed at this hotel on Friday and Saturday, April 1st-2nd in room 224. I discovered a few bites to my back, neck. arms and face when I awoke on the Sunday morning (it turned out to be in excess of 30+). I went downstairs and reported this to the front desk who, to their credit, was apologetic. When i returned to my room, I discovered a bug in my bed - that when I I compared it to the pictures I could find on the web, looked definitely like a bedbug. It was engorged with blood. I captured it and returned to the front desk. No wanting to make a scene, I waited until the lobby was empty and handed the culprit over to the cleaning staff. Now aware that this had been in my bed for two nights and as no offer was forthcoming, I suggested that the hotel compensate me for one of those night stays. An unwanted debate ensued around how much they were actually willing to provide. They offered me another free night, BW points or they quoted a refund rate which was less than the amount I paid through Expedia. I also got no joy when I reported this through to their Customer Satisfaction line - with a repeat of the same offers. You know, when you take into account the cost of the ointments and benedryl I've now bought, the dry cleaning bill for my suit jacket, the hassle of washing an entire suitcase full of clothes, the discomfort I currently have from the 30+ bites and last night's interrupted sleep...I don't feel my request to be unreasonable. Whether the staff is not given enough authority to satisfy a customer's request or the management is too narrow sighted / tight fisted to understand the true cost of maintaining a happy customer, I can't say. All I know is my decision of not staying with Best Western in future will likely cost them far more than one night's accommodation. Not every business runs perfectly, it doesn't happen, we all know that. But when a business makes a mistake, it should own up to it and try to make full restitution without forcing its patrons to chase them to then get a substandard resolution. This problem should have been resolved upfront by initially thanking me for alerting them to a problem and volunteering, without me asking, for a credit for one night's accommodation - and you know, I probably wouldn't have written this report either. Now, it seems like I have no choice - if you stay at this hotel please be forewarned, bugs unfortunately have been found in the rooms.

Bed bugs in room 224 left all kinds of huge bites on me. On Aug.1 2016 room 221 on Aug2 2016 left more bites on me.

Second night I stayed here. No problems the first night. I woke up from something that I thought was a bite. Looked to the bed to my right and saw 3 dark spots. I got up and they were clearly bed bugs. I looked into my bed and found some very active. The same day later at work I found one on the outside of my jeans. Hotel management laughed and said they would take care of the problem right away. Room 222
