I'll do this the lazy way and copy/paste the initial email to the GM: Good afternoon Mr ******,   I just wanted to send you a statement of events while they are still fresh in my mind for our records, regarding my and my family's stay at your Aberdeen Travelodge stay from 09/01/2016 to 09/03/2016. I really don't want to spend hours on this as I tend to get very detailed, but I will be as brief as I can. On Thursday 09/01/2016, we checked in to your hotel around noon-time after I booked travel through Hotwire. One of your employees mentioned that sometimes you can get a better rate by going straight to the hotel and asking. We checked in and everything was fine throughout the day. A nice and warm staff, internet worked great and the parking was right outside of my room. (Room 103) It was perfect for my mother, as she is handicapped and barely able to walk. Fast forward to the evening. Everyone went to sleep but I heard my brother wake up around 1:30 a.m. and leave. I thought that perhaps he was going to either go to work early, or was meeting some lady friend. He didn't say anything, I just continued sleeping. In the morning, when we woke up, I noticed some mosquito looking bites on my left upper arm. I figured we must have had mosquitos come into the room, as we were on the first floor with the door opening, it could happen. My nephew also complained about itching on his legs. My mother, on the back if her neck. I still didn't think it was too unusual and figured that mosquitoes were the culprits. I went to the counter to see if I could get a night's stay for a better rate than Hotwire gave me. It is then that I met you ( Mr ************) and you gave me a rate of $59.99 plus taxes for two nights. (Approximately $135.00) cash. You were very pleasant and welcoming. No issues with you what-so-ever. Later that afternoon, my brother came back from his job and told us that he had been bitten by bed bugs, as he had researched them years ago. He saw them and killed 2 of them on his pillow and bed. He showed us the smear marks. So this solved the mystery of the bites. I immediately went to the front desk and told the manager what had happened. (one of your brothers, as he said there are 3 of you). He was very polite and offered me another room to go to. He also said that he was going to have all of our clothes heated up in his drier and for us to put everything in bags. We put two separate bags. One with our clean clothes that I had just washed mostly, and the other one with dirty clothes. When I went to the counter, the manager had left and it was someone that had a little difficulty understanding English. I told him that I wanted the one set washed, and the other set as they said they would do. (Heated) A little later, my brother was on the phone with the manager that had left, and was not very happy. The manager claimed that there was no knowledge of bed bugs in the facility but my brother disputed that. The beds had the protective covering that sometimes indicates that the infestation was covered up and kept under wraps, as is a common practice apparently. My brother then passed me the phone. I spoke to the manager and asked him to wash the clothes in the dark bag. He told me that they would refund the money for the night's stay and would take care of the room by having it fumigated? or something like that. He would take the necessary steps to fix the problem. We were given keys to move to room 106, so we made the move. Everything seemed ok...EXCEPT when my brother picked the left bed up, he found a dead bug. I took pictures of it and compared it to pictures of bed bugs. There was no match but he said they looked different sometimes. After looking under the other bed, we didn't find anything else. My brother had left for the night, so it was just me, my mother and my nephew. I had gone to the other room (103, I still had the key) a couple of times to see if the clothes were taken yet. They had not been touched. I then went to the front desk, where the same guy was there that didn't speak English well. He then explained that housekeeping didn't get there until 7:30 a.m. and then they would wash the clothes and dry them. A few hours later, I went to sleep but was awakened by itching on my right hand, neck and arms. I figured it might have been from the night before. I looked at my pillow and guess what I found????? My first ever look at a bed bug!!!. It was right on my pillow. A tiny looking thing that was walking on my pillow. I took pictures and better yet, I took video. I then went to the guy at the front desk and told him what I found. I asked if he wanted to see the video and he said no. He offered me ANOTHER room, but all he had left on the first floor was a king bed. He also had cots. I told him no and then yes. I didn't want my mother to have to climb steps. After going back to the room, I inspected again under the bed and really didn't want to have to move again to another room. I started rationalizing that MAYBE the bed bug had travelled on my clothes somehow from the other room. I only had on shorts and a tank top. We left all of our clothes in the other room in bags. The only things that we brought were the necessities such as food and toiletries. I then went back to the front desk and told the guy to forget it. I gave him the key back to the king sized bed. Now fast forward a little more to about 2:30 a.m.? or so. I couldn't sleep, not could my mother. She was up reading and I was up trying to work on my computer and phone, as I am an internet marketer and online business creator. There are several projects that I am currently working on, but these distractions hindered me from doing. While talking to my mother and facing the wall, what did I see on the wall??? A HUGE BED BUG. I started recording right away because I saw that it was moving slowly and couldn't get away. I then took pictures of this ugly thing and then killed it. I didn't even want to go talk to the guy in front again and try to explain what happened. It was late/early and I was very tired. It gets better though. A little while later, my mother tells me that her head is itching and that she thinks she sees one on her bed. I rush there and there's a THIRD ONE!!! I again got the video from my phone and recorded this and took pictures before killing it. At this point, I have had it and was going to get another room from the guy in the front, for the 2 beds upstairs. I went and told him what happened and showed him the bed bugs. He then gave me the keys to room 204. Again, we had to move to another room and my mother had to be helped up the steps and along the long corridor upstairs. I first inspected the room's beds and it looked clean. My nephew, who's 11, had to be woken up to help move the few things upstairs. When we finally got settled, it was almost 6:00 a.m. Me and my mother weren't able to sleep all night. (Except the little sleep that I got before midnight). Me and my nephew went to eat breakfast and went back upstairs to finally sleep. I kept waking up and around 10:00 a.m. or so, the phone rings. It was you (Uyesh) asking me to come down to speak with you. My wife wanted to speak with you, so I called her and told her you were there. I went down and you explained to me that the clothes were almost ready and that you wanted to remedy the situation (not those exact words). You explained that you wanted to inspect the rooms and get them cleaned, etc. I showed you my swollen hand and the bites on my face and I believe neck as well. You didn't want me to speak above a whisper even though no one was around, so I complied.  You were and are, a gentleman offering to help in whatever way you could. You mentioned that you wanted us to go to another hotel so that you could get the situation fixed. In retrospect, it seems that you thought we were the problem? I'll play devil's advocate and agree that the situation needed tending to. Perhaps you were concerned that we would tell the other guests and that is understandable. But thinking back, it was pretty rough being victims of these bugs, moving into another room, being attacked again, moving again...and then being kicked out...in a nice way. You agreed to provide lodging, my suitcase and any medical bills. You said that as long as I provided you the receipts, you would have this covered. The room had to be similar in tier or ratings, so I found a 2.5 star using Hotwire in the Edgewood area. Before I made the reservation, I came back in and showed you the area and star rating. The rate was $76.00 per night before fees and you said yes. I told you that I needed a week to resolve helping my mother move into her new place. You said just to make sure that I provided the receipts and gave me your personal cell phone, in case I needed you. Earlier today, I called you and told you that I really did not want to go to the hospital or doctors as I don't have medical coverage and prefer alternative medicines to traditional. The only way would be is if it was an emergency or if the infection could be serious. I only requested in today's conversation if you could provide dinner for us this week for the inconvenience, to which you responded you didn't think that it would be covered but would let me know by Tuesday. At this time, it is embarrassing to walk around and have people stare at my face, hands and see the bumps on my arms. My mother has a scar on her arm from scratching, my nephew has numerous bites and my brother was bitten on the top of his head mostly. It seems that I had the most severe reaction to them. It seems that this is enough of a re-cap that you can forward to your business owner, if you wish. I'm forwarding it to my attorney and wife so that they know what occurred and have the details as well, while still fresh in my memory.  Even though you seem like an honorable person and who will keep his word, too  many times things are out of your hands and it's best to not only record events, but also have things in writing. This has taken me a lot of time to write, as I like to be as accurate as possible when writing anything. Thanks for your help in this matter. P.S. I'm attaching just a few of the pictures from my bed bug experience. I have another phone that I can't transfer anything from yet.  One of the pics is of the bug that my brother found under the first mattress in room 106. It does not look like a bed bug. The other 3 were definitely bed bugs and I have several pictures and videos of each. ******************************** I called and texted him on Tuesday, but no answer. After calling from a different cell number today 09/07/2016, he answered me and gave me a claim number to report my receipts to. I just feel that this should be known and corrected. I can't believe that this place had TWO infested rooms. There was no way that three bugs came with us from one room to the next when all of our clothing was left in the other room! I hope they get shamed into fixing this infestation. I can't believe that no one else has had similar experiences here. Please come forward if it has happened to you. Perhaps a refund is enough for most people? I don't know how they are keeping it under wraps.
