We stayed at this hotel on 9/1/2018. We stayed in a double queen room and had issues with bugs from the moment we unpacked. Initially, the bugs were located in the bathroom and around the window sill. We killed probably five or six bugs in total throughout the night, but checked our mattresses and nightstands for bedbugs just like we do at every hotel. We killed several spiders, a centipede, and a few other small insects that, in retrospect, may have been bed bugs. Upon returning home, though, one of the children that stayed in our room presented with bug bites on her face. In the following day or two, we suspected that we were dealing with some bed bugs that we brought home from this hotel. We called the Best Western Cedar Bluff Inn and spoke with Tara Donaldson, who told us that she would go check our room with someone else. She did not call me back so I called her for an update the next day and she told me they found no signs of bedbugs. Oddly, she told me several times they checked the headboards, which I later found another review about someone claiming they had founs bed bugs on their headboards that management later would not admit to. She said they could not offer me a full refund for my stay because I paid with a Best Western travel card. When I informed them that I would be leaving a bad review, they finally offered a full refund in the form of points to my Best Western account. Unfortunately, the points they offered to refund still does not accumulate to the $110 I paid in total. We are now beginning the infestation treatment process, which is going to cost us a heck lot more than the $110 we spent and this hotel does not even care. This ordeal started with $100 room and has escalated into potentially 1000s of dollars worth of treatment and replacement, not to mention to the peace of mind you lose when dealing with bed bugs.

We stayed on the night of 2/27/2023, and my room was 301. I found a small flea-looking bug on the floor, and I put it in a Ziploc bag for closer inspection. I was really hoping it was a flea, but the horizontal lines and the segmented body all matched the bed bug pictures online. The reception promptly gave me another room. I have a picture of the bug that definitely proves its existence.
