Bedbug Reviews

May 20, 2021. Was briefly visiting someone who booked this hotel, now known as the Ramada. Saw no evident eggs or droppings with my first lookover, white sheets and pillowcases, everything initially looked neat. Laying still watching a movie at 1245AM, then noticed on the pillowcase a very small red bug, then a few minutes later another, then a third one at the top corner of the bottom sheet. Never had seen a bedbug nymph before, so still didn't know what they were. Got up, pulled the top sheet and bedspread all the way back, picked up my clothing from the floor then placed on the bed while trying to identify the little red bugs. Not a minute later, moved my clothing from the bed and there was an adult bedbug underneath. Must have come from the floor. Called the front desk, one employee came up with extra pillows and a key to a different room 1 floor up. I took pictures, killed the bedbugs and left them on the bed for the manager to see and took pictures. Instead of staying the rest of the nights, I recommended to check out. I left that night and threw away the clothes and shoes I was wearing, sprayed my purse and car. The next day, they called the manager who had been alerted of the incident, who replied, "Yeah I heard about it, but we don't know if they were bedbugs" and "just because there were bugs in the bed doesn't mean they were bedbugs." He said this despite having been able to see the bedbugs. He was rude, not contrite, didn't offer any remedy, but said he wouldn't charge for the cancelled nights (which he really couldn't anyway as the room had been vacated). Over the next two days, my arm and by the armpit showed the disgusting, swelling from the bites. It's 5 days later and these don't go away quickly. Will be following up with corporate, notifying the credit card company. The more this story is shared, the more people bring up that this hotel was shutdown, reorganized in bankruptcy in 2015 and renamed to the Ramada. Had horrible food and sanitation issues even back then. Thank you for this site to warn others.

We checked in late 09/23/21 and Friday morning I had a real itchy spot on my arm but I didn't think anything of it and we went to our event for the day. 09/24/21 We came back from the event and all of us settled in for the night to watch a movie. My husband saw a bug crawling across the bed. I jumped out and he captured it and 1 more in our bed and 1 in our son's. We looked them up and found they were definitely bedbugs. We frantically threw all our belongings in garage bags and left the room. My husband went to the front desk and told them about it and showed them the bugs and requested a refund. All they said is the manager would call him the next day. The manager never called. Since he had booked through Hotels.com, my husband contacted them. They said it would be 10 days and they will let him know the status of the refund request. He's calling them tomorrow as we have not heard anything from them either. And we now have to call the hotel back as they charged our credit card an additional $30 dollars.
