Stayed at the Summit for Spring Break March 7-9, 2015. The second night I layed down and noticed something crawling. Pulled back the sheets and there were plenty more. Even found the nest

My husband surprised me and my daughter by telling me he wanted to take a beach trip for Presidents Day weekend. We searched and found a great condo at good price so we booked it for 2/18/17-2/20/17. We checked in at the Summit room 1406 on Saturday 2/18 at 4 pm and settled into our room. Upon arrival we did notice that the room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a few months. Like it had been left vacant with no occupancy. We overlooked all of that because I usually clean where we are going to be staying. First thing I did was check the beds and bedding. It looked fine and no signs of bugs that I could see. We ordered a pizza and continued unpacking and planning what we would do the next day. Our 2 year old daughter went to bed at 7:45pm. We stayed up until about 11 and then joined her for a good nights rest. That is when we saw a bed bug crawling beside her hurrying to try to hide. I got a tissue and squished it. We then tore the sheets off the bed and inspected it. Under the mattress we did find signs of more but didn't see anymore live ones. We packed our bags and headed home at midnight. Unfortunately each condo is individually owned and the one we rented is rented out by a management company. The management company was contacted but was closed. The office at the Summit was closed and we couldn't find anyone on staff there.

My friends and I planned to stay at Summit for a total of 4 nights, from Friday, 5/3 to Tuesday, 5/7. When we got to the room we noticed it looked somewhat dirty, as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. We checked the beds and didn't find anything suspicious, so we figured we were safe and settled in. Saturday night as I was going to bed I noticed a bug near my head on the bed. I didn't know what bed bugs looked like, and simply squished it and went to sleep. Monday morning, my friend noticed a dead bed bug on one of the beds as well as some bits of blood on the sheets. We packed up our stuff and decided to make the 8 hour trek home a day early. We complained to management that there were bed bugs and they did not take us seriously. They rolled their eyes when we requested money back, even though we should not have to pay for a room that gave us bed bugs. When we first brought up the bugs, they asked if we wanted to simply move to another room which explains how they have bed bugs to begin with since they seem to have no concept of how they spread quickly and easily. They said they'd have their pest guy come take a look, but this man took several hours and we had an 8 hour drive home so we left and told them to call. When my friend called them to ask for updates, they said they could not speak to her since she hadn't booked the room on her card. They claim the pest guy didn't find bugs and that there was a certificate to prove it, but when we called the pest company directly, they never called us back or sent us the certificate. Overall disgusting hotel and disrespectful management.
