My husband stayed at this hotel between 4/22/16-4/25/16. Upon his return to San Franciso on the evening of 4/25/16 he started seeing evidence of bites all over his body. They increasingly got worse and was seen in urgent care on 4/30. Their diagnosis was inconclusive, although they prescribe a topical treatment and a medication for herpes simplex virus. On 5/2/16 my husband sought a dermatologist and was diagnosed with bug bed bites. He was treated with Prednisone and Hydroxyzine and was to return 5/9/16 for a reevaluation. Most of his symptoms dissipated by Friday, 5/5/16. On Saturday, 5/7/16, he had a reoccurrence of bed bug bites, meaning he brought some home with him. During this period of dealing with the bites, my husband was getting increasingly agitated by the incessant itch, to the point of high stress. On Monday, 5/9/16, at his dermatological reevaluation the doctor reconfirmed this and in addition to a shot, he was given he was given more Hydroxyzine, a double dosage this time and was instructed to contact a professional exterminator to fumigate home. Here in lies more tragedy. After returning home after lunch my husband took the Hydroxyzine and I left for work with the instructions to him if he is too sleepy he should call me to make arrangement to pick up the kids. At 2:40 that afternoon he called and said I will have to make other arrangements for the kids, his speech was slurred and I asked him what was wrong? Did he have a reaction to the drugs? I couldn't quite comprehend all that he was saying and after hanging up, I called my sister in law and she told me to go straight home and call 911. Luckily I was only about 5 minutes away. Upon arriving at home I found my husband on the bed and he could not move part of his left side. 911 was called and he was taken to the hospital for a Hemorrhagic Stroke. His blood pressure was too high and caused a blood vessel to burst in his brain. He was in ICU for 2 days and has now been transferred to an Acute Rehabilitation Facility in San Francisco. I'm sure this bout with the bed bugs had some effect on his blood pressure, making it an indirect cause of his stroke. With having to deal with my husband's situation and the bed bugs at home is not anything I wish other people to experience, so beware! This is my 1st experience with this and hopefully my last. I've yet to contact the hotel. What should I do?

We were supposed to stay there for 3 nights. We checked in the 10th of July 2017. (We were 5 people) At first the hotel looked a little bit old and there were weird spots on the ceiling. Our room had two queens bed. There were bed bugs in both beds, but more in the left bed. After seeing those little insects (around midnight), I immediately went to the lobby to talk to the receptionist. He said to me that if I want it a refund or to change the room we needed to wait for the manager who would be there around 7 am. So we waited At 7 am, the vice-manager came to see if what we were saying was true. He came into the room and inspected both beds and he also found bed bugs. He appologized and offered us 20% discount on the first night (10th to 11th July) and gave us a refund of the two other nights. at the end, we still paid $ 161,70 for an aweful night!
