2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lay it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

I checked into the Super 8 in Tappanhanock, VA on September 2, 2017 for one night. The room was clean and seemed to be recently renovated. Before going to bed I checked for signs of bed bugs. Things seemed to be ok until the following morning upon waking up. I found a very small bug crawling near the head of the bed. I killed it and took a photo. When I went to the front desk to check out the customer in the room next to me was their making a complaint about bed bugs in her room. I informed the clerk that I as well had discovered something in my room. I as well as the other customer were given refunds for our nights stay. The following day I had numerous rashes on my body. I had never experienced beg bugs and hope I never will again. The whole ordeal was very unnerving. I will not stay at this hotel ever again.
