I was in Grand Rapids for a shopping trip with my 10-year-old daughter and my 11 month baby girl. We live 2 hours away and decided to stay at the last minute. I went on hotels.com and booked. When I checked in the front desk clerk was pleasant. Sometime around midnight I felt a sting like I was being bitten. I jumped up and I had over 6 pretty big bites that were welts on my neck and collarbone area. I ripped off my sweatshirt and brushed my hair upside down to makd sure there wasnt anything on me. I was freaked out that my girls were going to get bit. I only had the television light and I didnt see anything. In the morning I was waiting for the housekeeping staff to arrive so I could show them some issues with the room that were not bedbug related and at the end I pulled my collar aside and said I'm upset about this too! I told them they should spray for spiders. I was told by the same clerk that checked me in along with another housekeeper that those were NOT spider bites....they were I deed bedbug bites! They said they had an ongoing problem and we're very honest about the situation. They took pictures of my bites and gave me 2 garbage bags to put our belongings in so we didnt bring them home! I feel disgusting!
