10/19 I had paid for a trial timeshare at Welk Resort in Escondido because it was offered to me and we have been wanting to take our kids to San Diego Wild Animal Park. What a nightmare! We spent THREE HOURS (not two) in a sales presentation. We went to lunch, checked in and went swimming. We finally go to our room to call it a day. Kids are watching the iPad because the volume on the tv didn’t work and the only kid friendly channel was Nickelodeon with some show on. I go to get the pull-out couch ready for the kids and there were BED BUGS! We freak, tell the kids to stay away and I call the front desk. They apologize and ask us to pack up and come back to the front desk. Okay, I’m still trying to be optimistic and make the best of the situation. We pack up all our stuff, load the car, get the kids in and drive back down the hill to the lobby. This must happen all the time because they were not shocked one bit and tried to put us in a room next door to the bed bug room. I ask to speak to the manager and he tells me they don’t have anything else (No way were they at capacity on a Sunday night in October!). At this point I say screw it, let’s go stay at a Marriott. And here we are…Settled in for the night at last!! Lesson learned I suppose. Stick to what you know. Yuck!!! 🤢

On 1-21-22 I arrive at the WELK RESORT in Escondido with my 3 kids.I was move to total of 3 rooms, the first room I didn’t get any cellphone service or WiFi in room number 2212. 1-23-22 They move me to Room number 3322 that’s when the nightmare began. I was trying to celebrate my daughter birthday along with getting some work done. I had pulled out the clothing I was tagging and package to send out. I finish to took my shower and went-to bed when I woke up from feeling like I was itching I found bumps all over my back and other areas. I pulled back the sheets all the way and saw bed bugs crawling in the bed. I took pictures and video called the front desk. They send staff up . The 2 men took picture and I also collected some of bugs in a bowl that they took with them. They did move my room but it took about 45 mins and I had to go down to front desk in the middle of night 12am to pick up the keys. The next morning I talked to the manager she said she was going pest control come out and check the room. She called me back and let me know that she is so sorry but pest control did not find any bedbugs in the room or any other kind of bugs in the room. It may be the bugs may have came from sunflower seeds that they found on the floor that may attracted the bugs. I told her that her security staff members who came to the room saw the bed bugs. And That I had video along with pictures of the bed bugs. She stated that they didn’t find any bugs as if I was telling lie. I don’t believe they had anyone check it because they would of found the bed bugs it’s was lots of them . I’m disappointed in the way they handled this. Welk resort will not get my business. And they have the nerve to tell you, welcome home, my home would never have bedbugs. Disgusting and unacceptable. And I don’t feel like they are taking the situation seriously.
