A group of friends and I stayed here 8/1-8/4/19 (two nights in 303, 1 night in 503). On 8/3, my friend discovered a string of red, itchy bites on her leg. We spoke with the night attendant at the front desk who moved us to 503. The next day, my friend had more bites on her shoulders and I had several on my collarbones, so it's possible that 503 may also have had bedbugs. There were old blood stains and hair on some of the sheets. When we checked out, the hotel staff said they had not found any signs of bedbugs in 303 and therefore would only refund us half the cost of the third night. If this was all they did, it would be unacceptable because clearly we were bitten in room 303 or both rooms (we showed them a photo of the bites); they just hadn't looked carefully enough. They did say they would send someone to check again and get back to us. A few hours later, they called to say that housekeeping found bedbugs in one of the beds, and they refunded the entire stay. While in the end they handled this situation honestly, the refund is insufficient to make up for having to switch rooms at midnight, the possibility of bedbugs being carried to our homes, the hassle of treating all our belongings, and the distress that this caused. My friend who was bitten first could not sleep for multiple nights, felt unwell and had to take a sick day to recover and decontaminate her clothing and luggage. The hotel staff should be thoroughly checking each room before guests check in and of course exterminate any infestations before renting the room out. Anything less, like what happened to us, is unacceptable.
