Occurred 2019/09/26. Two adult bedbugs observed beneath mattress near headboard. Management expressed concern and offered a new room on the same floor, but provided a room on a different floor and different wing of the hotel when asked. No evidence of infestation was observed the new room in inspections of the bed, baseboards, couch, or chair. Beyond some complementary items from the hotel store and the promise (as yet I realized) of additional affinity program points, no remuneration was offered. (Or sought, I was tired.) There was no follow up from staff the next day, and it was unclear that the day staff had been informed of the issue by the night staff. At this writing (9/27) there has been no follow up from corporate. Note that all Springhill Suites rooms have couches designed to accommodate additional guests as sleepers. They’re seldom used, and may present an attractive alternative to the bed for guests with concerns about bedbugs.
