My family checked in at Red Roof Inn Plus on March 13th around 5:30p.m. When we walked in we were not greeted properly and staff barley spoke. One girl was on her phone and barley took her eyes off of it when I was asking questions. When we got to our room it looked okay but could have been cleaner especially the bathroom. Every time I go to a hotel I check for bedbugs or other unpleasant thing I could encounter. I did not find anything so we stayed in the room. We ordered pizza and had it delivered to the room and after we were done eating I noticed a “crumb” on the bed. This did not tirn out to be a crumb as it started moving it fell on the floor and I couldn’t find it again. We were not really sure what kind of insect it was since we didn’t get a good glance. So I checked the room throughly again and found nothing. I suspected it was just another kind of insect. When we turned the lights out about 20 minutes after I noticed something crawling on my leg. Sure enough it was a bed bug. I told my family to pack up the car and we are leaving. I captured the bug and took it to the front desk. The employees eyes got really big and she was almost speechless. I asked for a refund and she gave it back to me right away. She did offer another room but I denied. We went to another hotel across the street. All in all the staff was great about giving back my money but lack basic communication skills.
