I was in Corona, CA for a three day work conference/training. On the first night at the hotel, I arrived September 12th, 2017 around 1am. I went to my room, did some minimal unpacking and getting ready for the next day. Was asleep by 2:30am. Btween 4:30 am and 5:30am I was awakened due to itching on my face and forearm. By 5:30am, I got up to figure out what was going on. I looked in the mirror to see raised red welts, almost like large mosquito bites, on my arm, face and lower back. I pulled the comforter back and found one bed bug on my pillow, one crawling on the bed and one on the comforter. I took pictures before killing them. I immediately called reception to let her know and she stated "Unfortunately, we don't have any other rooms to put you in so just use the pullout couch for now." I obviously didn't want to do that as I just wanted out of the room so I showered and headed to the lobby. Later that morning another receptionist came up (with my prompting/request) to help me take my belongings down as I wanted my clothes/pajamas steamed, dry cleaned or washed. They were nice and helpful but every employee I encountered stated how shocked they were because they had never heard of the hotel having bed bugs. They moved me to another room for the next two nights and I was not bitten either one of those nights. I was informed that they had their exterminator come out the day of September 12th to assess for bed bugs but "no evidence" of bed bugs was found so the room was not treated. They just "changed the linens" and opened the room back up to the next guest. I did email the hotel manager the photos of my bites and the bugs on the bed early on Sept 12th which she stated she did show the exterminator. I believe they should've treated the room regardless since my photos should be evidence enough that there were bed bugs there. I worry for the next guests in 436!
