I checked into the Hyatt House Galleria on a Sunday around 7:00 pm October 21, 2018. The rooms were suspicously cheap and my boss booked the stay for me and another coworker to share a room. I dropped my bags off and went out to dinner. I didn't have much time to check out the room but I noticed it was in need of renovation. It was pretty shabby and everything seemed worn. After coming back from dinner I did my normal check of the room. I lifted the sheets to check for bed bugs and check the head board. Didnt see anything so I went to shower and get ready for bed. I fell asleep for 3 hours before my coworker came and knocked on the door to be let in. This was around 1:30 am. I opened the door then got right back into bed but realized I lost my ear plugs so turned my cellphone flash light on and started looking through the sheets. THAT IS WHEN I SAW THEM. BEDBUGS. I freaked out and jumped out of bed. My coworker who is much braver than me started looking through the sheets to take videos to show management. It was my worst hotel nightmare come true. Needless to say we got out of there as quick as possible. I got bit on my arm twice but that was it. I think they were just starting to come out of hiding. The front desk guy was very apologetic. His sorry didnt help the only 3 hours of sleep that I got that night as we tried unsuccessfully to find a new hotel. We ended up staying with other coworkers and I shared a fold down futon with my new coworker. The front desk guy talked to Priceline who refunded our money by morning. Terrible experience. Stay away from this hotel. I ended up throwing away my suitcase and other bags and all my clothes I had with me shrunk because I had to wash and dry them on highest heat to kill any bugs that may have been picked up. Luckily I came home bed bug free.
