Bedbug Reviews

I am emailing to report bed bug Infestation at a local motel within city limits for 2/20/20-2/26/20. I and my four children were subjected to bed bug bites while staying at the Suburban Rodeway Inn, located at 13031 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123. The nights of 2/20-2/24, my family occupied room 310 without incident, or so I had originally thought. On 2/25/20, my oldest child inquired about the detergent used by motel staff for bedding, as he felt itchy and was bothered by what we both thought to be an acne outbreak or hives. I had not considered that there might be an alternate possibility, but told him if it persisted to inform me. The next few days he continued to break out considerably. He had several marks on his neck, lower jaw, as well as his facial area. He didn't seem too concerned, believing it might be caused from detergent used to clean bedding. We checked out of room 310 on 2/25/20 at 935a.  The evening of 2/25/20, I checked into the same motel, but was given the key to room 304 at about 830p, as room 310 had become occupied while away for the day.  The following morning, on 2/26/20, I had an appointment at 730a. I took notice that the tenant that had been in room 304 from 2/24/20-2/25/20, had in fact moved to room 310, previously occupied by my family. Upon my return to clear room of personal property and to check out, I kept mental note of the "random" switching of rooms by this other visitor. We proceeded to clear room 304 of personal items and left property at about 1140a. On 2/27/20, my oldest son asked if hives could last for days and stated acne outbreaks never caused him to itch, that he couldn't stop itching everywhere. Not long after, I was contacted my other child's school nurse at Wilson MS. She was concerned that my son had a very large and bruised mark that my son had showed to her. She advised me that she believed it was caused by a big or a spider and that I should keep watch of continued swelling, streaking or malaise within the following days. She offered some tips and appropriate remedies and said a document at school would be written and archived.  Based on several concerns from three of my children and my own itching with visible marks, I researched Suburban Rodeway Inn located at 13031 Central Bldg. B to check for possible bedbug notifications made recently. Upon further investigation, I took pictures of each child's injuries, as well as my own the afternoon of 2/27/20.  That same day I took two of my children back to location to speak with management to notify them of my concerns. I informed the employees behind the motel front desk of the incident and attempted to show the them my children's forearms. The male thanked me for telling them so they might assess and remedy the situation to prevent an infestation of adjoining rooms immediately. However, the female behind the front desk did relate to me that the room had already been rented and the visitor hadn't complained. She stated, should the new guest complain, she would have staff check for evidence of bed bugs. It was obvious that she didn't intend to inform the guest that there had been a complaint regarding bed bugs for room 304. I did request that management contact me and reimbursement be made upon discovery of valid allegations. Before I left, the same woman advised remediation would be discussed upon any finding. She again implied that room 304 would not be checked until the current guest checked out or made a complaint as well. I did follow up with the motel maintenance man on 2/28/20 and I learned the room had been bug-bombed that morning (2/28/20). However, I have yet to receive a response from management in such regard.  Returned to establishment on 3/1/20 to inquire about findings and a refund. I was advised that my family had checked out before reporting the infestation so we would not be eligible for a refund. In truth I do know that the room was cleared of the bedding and fumigated prior to an exterminator checking for signs of bedbugs, as my friend lives onsite as their maintenance guy. I'm reporting to BBB and seeking legal advise now.
