We booked this hotel while visiting Tulsa 9/16-9/17. The staff was very friendly, the rooms appeared clean. We booked adjoining rooms (212-214) so my 2 year old son could sleep next door. We kept our 5 month old daughter in our room in a pack n play on the far side of the room, by the window. I happened to find one tiny clear-looking bug crawling on the table between beds, but didn't think much of it. The first night, we noticed a leak from or around the AC unit and moved our daughter to the front of the room. The second night, when my daughter woke up around midnight, I turned on the lights and found the bed by the window crawling with small bugs, many of them a dark red. I woke my husband and found bugs in our bed too. At that time, I had never encountered bed bugs before, but they looked like the pictures online and smashing one left a trial of blood on the sheets. Only after looking them up did I realize that small bug I found the first day was likely a bed bug nymph. We called hotel management and informed them of the problem. We were given another room (near our son who was still sleeping next door). The staff was prompt and accommodating, however, it was disconcerting when the manager replied "I'm sure they're bed bugs. This has happened so many times." They offered to comp our room for one night. We asked and were granted that room for both nights. Now that we knew what to look for, we found bugs all over the room, including mattresses, headboards, etc. We found no evidence of bugs in our new room or our son's room. Upon leaving the next morning, I found a few scattered bites on myself and my daughter. We quarantined all of our belongings when we arrived home. Washed all that was washable in hot water and placed everything else in black plastic bags outside, including the pack n plays. Despite 2 days in the hot sun, we inspected the pack n plays and immediately found live bugs in my daughter's. We threw both pack n plays out. We washed and quarantined again. Despite all of these measures, new bites are appearing on myself and my daughter over a week later. We are now having an inspection done by pest control. So far this trip has cost us two pack n plays, luggage, an upcoming inspection, many sleepless nights, and the anxiety of knowing bugs were / are feeding on our 5 month old child. While I understand hotels are a target for bed bugs given the stay of many travelers, the infestation in this room was profound which makes me question the cleaning and inspection processes, particularly if this is, as the manager stated, a known and common problem for this hotel.
