We checked into the handicapped room on Friday, Nov. 23. The room was not very clean, but it was ok. I woke up the next morning with four bed bugs on or under my pillow. I caught two of them and took them to the management in a cup. They comped our room, but that was it. They did give us heavy duty garbage bags (after I asked) to put all of our belongings in so as to not infect our vehicle.

I have stayed at the Hampton Inn on Mall Loop Road in Dyersburg, TN several nights in the last month or so (March 2018-April 2018). Staff has been very welcoming on each visit. My recent stay last night (4/16/18 to 4/17/18) turned into a negative experience, however, when I woke up itching and found a bed bug making a getaway on the comforter. Upon further inspection, I saw several other bed bugs crawling on and sneaking into small holes in the headboard, and one was on one of my pillows. I immediately got up, took a shower, packed up, sprayed all my bags, threw the sleeping clothes I had on away, collected four of the bugs in a plastic bag, and presented them to front desk staff, requesting that they have someone treat the room. I was in room 218 when I was bitten. I have bites on the left side of my forehead, my left ear, and on both upper arms. Staff politely issued a full refund. Meanwhile, I’m left with a lot of itchy bites and several bags of materials to try to "clean" so I don't spread them to my home. I took photos of the bugs and several bites for my records. If you stay here, bring appropriate spray, check your room thoroughly, and keep your clothes in your suitcase and/or plastic bags. I did most of these things. I just wish I had sprayed as soon as I arrived rather than after I got bitten the next morning. I had not seen any other infestation issues at this hotel on my prior visits, so my guard was down. Never again. I hate this because I really liked it here. No matter how well staff has tried to keep things clean, the presence of bed bugs overshadow those efforts for me. I would post photos, but I don't see where to upload them.
