My husband and I checked into the Holiday Inn Express on January 3rd, 2024. It was a Wednesday; we were coming up to town to visit some family after the holiday. We got up to the room and everything was going fine, it smelled a bit musty but besides that there were no issues, that is until I did my standard bed bug screening. I picked up the mattress and saw that they had a bed bug protector on it which is a red flag in my eyes because it means they may have had them in the past. So, I quickly flipped up the mattress and imagine my Surprise when I see an unimaginable number of tiny bugs scattering from the light. I immediately packed my items together and told the polite person at the front desk that we would need a refund and we would be leaving. I was told a refund would not be possible, but she would let management know. I got a call within a couple of days from the general manager informing me that not only would we not be receiving a full refund but that they do not have bugs. I have pictures of the bugs that I emailed to her, and I did not hear anything from her after that. So overall I would not stay here if you were afraid of bugs and want management to take your complaints serious.
