After spending 1 night at this hotel on Monday, Sept. 9th, I woke up the next day covered in bed bug bites. When I brought this to the attention of management that morning, they instantly reacted rudely and with disbelief of my complaint. They did not sound surprised or shocked by the report of bed bugs, and they did not apologize to me once. They claimed to have had a pest company come test the room for bed bugs within 4 hours of my complaint, and according to them "the test came back negative". It seems suspicious to me that they were able to get a pest company out there so quickly, and when I asked the manager what exactly the company tests for other than visual cues of bed bugs, she responded "Well I don't know that, you would have to call the pest company yourself to find out that information." I continued to tell the management that regardless of what these test results are, I went to bed fine and woke up covered in itchy, swollen bites. I have the proof on my body (which I took photos as evidence, attached for reference). They refused to acknowledge that my concerns were very valid, with the manager telling me "Frankly, you could have gotten those bites anywhere." No, I got them at their hotel and it seems that they don't want to admit that they have a bed bug problem because that would be costly to deal with. Because their “test” came back “negative” they are denying that they have any bed bugs at all. I have complained with Marriott International corporate customer service, and that also did not go anywhere. The corporate is standing by the word of the hotel management rather than the customer, and refusing to do anything about their bed bug problem.
